Privacy notice
Short version: gyorgy.sh runs no tracking of its own, sets no cookies, and does not sell your data. Here is the longer version.
What we collect
Our server runs no third-party analytics, advertising cookies, or external trackers of its own. No fingerprinting, no session IDs, no persistent identifiers. Requests pass through Cloudflare, our delivery network, which can add the load analytics described below.
We do keep our own anonymous counters, on our own server: how many people read a page, which links get clicked, how far down a page people read, what was typed into the search box on this site, and which pages return errors. These are counts and nothing else. There is no visitor ID, no profile, and no way to tell one person's visits apart from another's. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we record none of it.
Our server logs each request with the IP address, timestamp, and URL, the same as any web server. These logs are used to diagnose errors and detect abuse. They are stored on our own server and are never sold. Because traffic passes through Cloudflare, Cloudflare also processes each request to deliver the page and protect it; see the Cloudflare section below.
Cloudflare
This site sits behind Cloudflare. They deliver our pages, terminate TLS, and absorb denial-of-service attacks, so every request passes through their network before it reaches our server. Cloudflare can also inject its Web Analytics script (real user monitoring) into pages at the edge. That switch lives in Cloudflare's dashboard, not on our server, so this notice assumes the script can load in your browser.
Cloudflare says the script sets no cookies, keeps no persistent state in your browser, and does not fingerprint you or follow you across sites. It reports totals and load timing only: page URL, referrer, country, browser and device type, and timing. That is why there is no cookie banner for it. What Cloudflare processes on its network falls under their own privacy policy and terms.
Cookies
Our server sets no cookies. Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your browser's localStorage, which stays on your device and is never sent to our server.
Third-party content
Blog posts may embed YouTube or Vimeo videos. Those iframes are loaded from the respective third-party domains and are subject to their own privacy policies. No embeds are loaded until you scroll to them.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold. Because we keep only server logs (IP + request metadata), the practical scope of this is narrow. To exercise your rights or ask any question, contact us at gyorgy@pueev.com.
